Paul asked Michael Jecks:

You seem to put so much energy into your work (and other activities) as well a dealing with fans and others so well. How do you do it?

Michael Jecks I firmly believe you have to work hard to succeed. If you want to make a living as a writer, it takes more than most jobs, because you have to live dependent on other people's work. It's the booksellers who make your living for you. So, authors have to be the creative spirits who invent stories, but also have to work at marketing, PR and all the other aspects. We have to be silent, hidden souls while writing, and then loud and gregarious the rest of the time. I have to concentrate like a lunatic while making up plots and characters, so I need to work hard in my spare time just to relax and get rid of those demons!
