What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Suzanne Nelson Get into a writing routine. I've learned that I'm at my most productive when I write every weekday for several hours a day. I consider it a job that I'm accountable for, just like any other occupation. If I'm doing a "good" job, then I'm at my desk making progress. I can't say it's always easy to do this. In fact, sometimes it's painful. Still, it's writing is a lot like exercising. When I do it each day, it's easier to motivate myself to return to it. If I skip a few days, I feel out of shape and out of touch with my characters and plot.
